Revitalising the Services Sector in Barbados

This issue of Trade Express focuses on the support provided by the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Trade Competitiveness Section to the Government of Barbados in order to revitalise the services sector in the country through the development of a National Services Sector Development Plan (NSSD). The NSSD was a Government initiative co-ordinated by the Barbados Coalition of Services Industries (BCSI). It identified critical capacity gaps and made recommendations to valorise services, create a competitive environment and ensure the provision of the human resources required to deliver high value services.
